English teacher of all ages

I recently graduated from Falmouth University where I got my bachelor’s degree in Popular Music.
I studied and worked in the UK for the past 3 years, but I am originally from Slovakia. I am currently
teaching English online and I also worked as an elf guide for LaplandSafaris in Finland, which means I
am used to spending my days outside surrounded by kids, entertaining them and helping them to
learn either new information about Finnish nature or telling them fun facts about animals that live in
the forest or stories about Santa Claus. The kids differed in age but many were from 6 years old to 12
years old.
I also worked as a volunteer at a husky farm in Finland so I am comfortable working in various
weather conditions. Taking care of animals requires working even during a snowstorm or a rainy day
so I am not afraid of getting wet or getting my hands dirty.
Besides my artistic outlet, which is music, I like to edit and combine visual footage with music and
artistic freedom. One of my passion is also teaching. I like teaching because seeing people progress is
what fulfills me. I started teaching almost 3 years ago when corona crisis hit schools in Slovakia and I
saw a massive decline within the Slovak school system when it came to languages and the growing
disinterest in the English language, especially among teenagers. This disheartened me as I was always
passionate about languages since I was a little kid and that’s also the reason why I want to learn
French.
With a degree from the UK on the way, I decided to put myself out there and help kids to speak
better English. At the moment my client’s age varies but I mostly teach kids who are 10-16 years old.
After a longer period of time, even parents of the kids that I taught started reaching out to me for
English lessons, which was very different from teaching youngsters and made me realize that I enjoy
teaching kids way more than teaching adults. The main reason is that teaching English does not have
to be that strict and when it comes to kids you can play and come up with interesting games and
read stories with them which helps the learning process in the long run as there is no pressure and
the vocabulary expands more naturally with time for them.
