Advert description
I have a BA in product design from Central St Martins and a masters degree in Design Futures from Goldsmiths and I have qualified teacher status and a PGCE in design technology. I have taught KS3 KS4 and KS5 and I am at present teaching Art Design and woodwork to adults with learning disabilities.
I have always been driven by art, design and creativity and have worked in many different creative fields but I have always had an interest in education and it became inevitable that I would begin to teach and mentor. I believe that a good teacher is an agent of change, and the most important skill for a good teacher to have is the ability to efficiently converse with students. A successful teacher provides a platform where understanding gained through engagement, encouragement and experience empowers students to create compelling interactions with others. Becoming self-reflective, fluent and critical in their thinking and finding the voice that enables them to act beyond the limits of the classroom. I believe in and encourage student centred active learning, providing objectives as staging posts, indicating how students know that they are learning.
