Advert description
I have been a KS2/3 teacher for twenty-three years. I have worked with children across a range of ages and abilities, both in class and on a tutoring basis, including children who are high achievers, children with English as an Additional Language, and children with Special Educational Needs.
I have tutored many children, either preparing them for assessments or helping them to catch up in Maths or English. For some children, this has meant reinforcing the basics such as times tables, mathematical concepts, or word classes and sentence construction; for others, it has meant extending them in order to push them ahead of their current levels. I have tutored students where I have extended their outcomes in order for them to exceed the expectations for their age group.
I can help prepare your child for the 11+.
I like to create a strong rapport with my students in order to make them feel comfortable, happy, and confident. I am friendly and approachable, flexible according to the student's needs, and adept at keeping students focused and on task. I have a thorough, in-depth knowledge of the KS2 curriculum in all areas and a good working knowledge of the KS3 curriculum. I am also very familiar with expectations for the end-of-year assessments and the KS2 SATS.
I can also offer advice/support for parents struggling with special educational needs provision and navigating the education system. I'm happy to meet online to answer questions and give advice.
For older students, I can advise on the process, structure and content (not subject-specific) of essay writing, to degree level.
I am also adept in the subject of computing and can help your child with this.
