Advert description
I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Music from the University of Durham, which is currently ranked No.1 university in the UK for Music. To enhance this, I also have an MSc in Arts Management from Durham University Business School (DUBS). My MSc thesis was based on Scottish Opera, where I worked with the great Leonard Bernstein as he conducted his opera Candide. I studied the violin whilst at school with Rosemary Rappaport, Founder of the Purcell School and then studied with Winifred Roberts, Professor at the Royal Academy of Music. Whilst at Durham, I also studied the piano. Recently, I have worked on a project basis with WILD ARTS Opera on their 2023 Summer Tour. I have formally worked in the finance industry and was posted to the Middle East in this capacity, where I lived for nearly 20 years. I believe this has given my CV breadth and an ability to communicate with people from all backgrounds and nationalities. I am passionate about conveying music - in all its forms - to everyone, particularly children, having had such a wonderful musical education myself. I also believe it is not too late to study music as an adult! Lastly, I should mention that I am a direct descendant of the composer Henry Purcell.
