English, Literature and Theory of knowledge teacher providing lessons for students of all ages

I am open-minded, experienced and knowledgeable in delivering high-quality English and literature content and theory of knowledge. I love English and literature, and for more than 11 years, I have taught the subject at various levels in Greensprings, an international school in Lagos, Nigeria. I taught English A: Language and Literature, Theory of Knowledge, IGCSE, and SAT English. I also served as the Deputy IBDP Coordinator and Head of group 2 (Languages). To crown it up, I am an experienced IBDP and GCSE examiner and have consistently marked papers from different countries with outstanding success.
My adaptability and openness to continuous learning would greatly assist you. A typical example of my ability to adapt quickly was in 2012 when I joined Greensprings as an inexperienced IGCSE teacher. In two years, I could grasp enough to teach the final year classes, and my first set of students had a hundred per cent A* to C. after that, I got the opportunity to deliver the IBDP English A: Language and Literature and theory of knowledge. Again, this is mainly attributable to my ability to learn fast.
I am familiar with the high expectation of maximum excellence in students' final examinations. I understand this goal's importance in bolstering learners' confidence and competence. Therefore, I am ready to serve this course wholeheartedly. In the past seven years, my students have consistently maintained 100% 7-4 in their final IBDP examination in English A: language and literature, a feat that has allowed me to grow.
The flexibility in developing individual schemes of work appeals to me. Moreover, as a former Deputy IBDP Coordinator and Head of Group 2 (Languages), I understand the eclectic advantage of building schemes of work using texts from the published list of authors.
During 11 years of teaching at Greesprings, I was also a strategic member of the continuous professional development team. As a result, we constantly trained new staff members in lesson planning, behaviour management and collegiate interactions. I also facilitated marking and proctoring standardisation for internal and external examinations.
