I have 20 years of teaching experience. I hold a diploma certificate in music from the Open University and a Certificate of Teaching in instrumental music teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. My teaching can help you work through graded examinations or can cover music for your own pleasure and gradual development. Music theory is covered practically through the music learnt so your understanding of the musical language grows as your instrumental skills develop. I hold a Grade 8 certificate in Theory of Music from the Associated Board of Music and can guide and prepare you for graded music theory examinations. I have experience in teaching all age groups. I would describe my approach as the teaching of music rather than just teaching how to play an instrument. I view your chosen instrument as the vehicle through which you learn the music. Instrumental specific pedagogy and techniques are covered as your musical skills develop.
