As a graduate of Geography, and research assistant at one of Nigeria's technological universities, I have been privileged to learn and teach geography in its core elements of theory and practical application. In addition, I have served as an Environment Reporter at a leading Newspaper company in Nigeria, and in recent years, I have covered Climate Change conferences as a TV Producer, across Africa and beyond. My knowledge of the Environment as a scholar and media professional is broad, and it will be great to translate this into teaching modules for students.
My approach to teaching Geography is mostly illustrative; trying to relate the phenomenon to environmental realities around the world. Geography is not necessarily abstract, it is reality.
so, the modules for instance on Climate Change will x-ray the human actions and the natural forces responsible for climate change. The global debate and call for action, especially on climate financing, carbon cost thresholds, roles of global actors in cutting carbon emission, among others.
