Advert description
I am studying my master of orchestral performance (flute) at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. In 2019, I made my solo debut performance at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall in New York, after being awarded the first prize of the Golden Classical Music Awards.
I started my music teaching career in 2015 until now and have been teaching students from beginner to grade 8, aged from six years old to 35 years old. I always welcome students who wish to explore more about music, building up playing the flute as their hobby, as well as growing together with them. In the lesson, I would always love to play studies, and exercise, as well as play flute pieces and duets together with the students. To broaden their horizons, I would love to share different music recordings, as well as discuss the music together during the lesson. Cathy believes that it is essential for students to step out of the classroom to learn music, rather than just play the flute. During years of teaching, I have been coming across students taking different grades of examination. I understand the importance of choosing the pieces for students, I would love to demonstrate pieces and discuss the preference with the student together. As the mode of having examinations keeps varied these years, I have already adapted to preparing students for the exams under different situations. Gladly, most of the students could attain merit or even distinction under her tutelage.
