Advert description
Hello, I'm Alex, I'm a Forensic Scientist and Science Tutor from Cambridge. I have a friendly, encouraging and inquisitive teaching style and love relating science to the world around us.
Having gained an undergraduate BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and a postgraduate MSc in Forensic Science, it's safe to say I love the life sciences and know them through and through.
I've been teaching since 2020, both in person and online, which I now do around my full time job. I have helped students of all ages and abilities with KS3 and GCSE Science and love seeing students achieve their goals whatever they may be. To date I have delivered over 1000 hours of teaching both in person and online.
As I did my GCSE's 10 years ago, I can still remember and relate to problems that some pupils have with scientific concepts as well as exam technique. Whatever the area of science you need support in, I'm happy to help you achieve your goals!
Within our first session, I like to go through a question paper with new students to see what areas you need help with. This is not a test - far from it! After identifying areas you are struggling with or are currently working on, then I will run through these topics with you, trying to relate them to real life scenarios to make the scientific concepts more interesting and relatable.
Progress is measured by the increase in confidence over the year that I love to see in my students which always translates to better exam results. In order to achieve this we will regularly go through topic questions together.
