Advert description
The Artists expression is apparant in the creation, but the viewers understanding of it is vital. Each of my Art lessons is based on a significant Artist, and the school of Art established by them. In this example, Picasso will be the subject.
I begin with a short bio on Picasso, show a few slides of some of his works, and have the students focus on the lines and the shapes he incorporated in the images/ how he often outlined them in black to emphasise the formation of the shape. Followed by this learning, my Eager Young Artists will be encouraged to create a piece on their learning/understanding of Cubism. This piece will first be sketched out with guidance/ prompting the Little Artists to view all parts of the image in 'shapes', as Picasso did, and then to use colors to define the shapes.
