English Literature and Language tutor with 2+ years of experience for students of all ages

I have significant experience as an English tutor, working with students from Year 3 to A Level, in both groups and 1-on-1. This has helped me to work effectively with students, creating a space that is both helpful academically, but also fun to learn in.

Typical lessons are an hour to two hours long, with a focus on ensuring that the student gets personalised tuition, based on helping them achieve the best results possible. I always aim to create a fun and engaging learning environment to students, in order to help them connect with the lesson materials, and enjoy the content that they are studying. I have over a year's worth of experience in tuition, working with students from Year 3 to A Level, and have additionally had experience working with larger groups as a volunteer in an infant school.

My most recent experience tutoring has been working at a provisional school, in which I tutored small groups of students who had been expelled from their mainstream schools for either behavioural or truancy reasons. This gave me some excellent experience in handling more challenging students, as well as the ability to manage students who may have extra behavioural and learning needs. This also included working with a number of different SEND students, allowing me to develop skills and techniques to best adapt lessons for students who may have extra educational requirements.
