Advert description
I used to be scared of science - now I have a diploma in astronomy. Get in touch for empathetic, patient and enthusiastic science and maths education.
Don't know your planets from your galaxies? Tripping up on trigonometry causing you trouble? Struggling to remember what a unit is? If you need somebody patient to help you out of the quicksand, I'm your man.
I'm an enthusiastic and understanding science communicator, who has been making science and maths resources for secondary school students for several years. DBS-certified and familiar with the wobbles of special education needs, you can rely on me for patient, step-by-step teaching of the nooks and crannies of physics, chemistry, biology, and maths.
I started out as a writing student, who thought that maths and science were the scary vestiges of things I'd never understand. But when I took a student exchange in New York, and began attending astronomy lectures, I learnt that it was not only fascinating, but exciting too.
These days, my writing BSc and my natural sciences diploma equip me with the tools to share these amazing subjects with students young and old - and my journey means I understand what it's like not to understand, and can help you across the finish line.
I also have plenty of experience working with SEND and neurodivergent students, so am more than happy to tailor my lessons around your needs and preferences.
You'll also benefit from my:
- BA (1st class) in Creative Writing with Media Communications from Bath Spa University
- HE Diploma in Natural Sciences (Astronomy and Planetary Science) with the Open University
- Work as a creator of secondary school resources for Elite Medical Education
- Science communication work with MEL Science and Fun Science Bath
- Experience as an assistant SEND teacher with the "Long-term Teachers" agency
Looking forward to hearing from you - don't hesitate to get in touch!
