Hello! I'm India Rose and I recently graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Surrey studying Actor Musicianship. Despite taking a creative degree, I have a true love for Maths and it has always been a subject I have excelled in. I have a real passion for Maths, Drama and Music achieving A*AB at A Level. At GCSE I gained A*'s in Maths, Further Maths, Music and Drama (and got 5A*'s, 4A's and 3B's overall). I taught myself my Further Maths GCSE and the first paper I ever sat was my final examination, gaining a top A*. Additionally, I received full marks on all of my Maths GCSE papers. I'm also extremely creative and have Grade 8 in Singing, Musical Theatre, Piano, Flute and Piccolo, in addition to Grade 5 Theory and Grade 6 Violin. I love teaching Maths and I make sure every lesson I teach is fun. I tailor my lesson to what each pupil needs and make sure they enjoy what they are learning as this is the key to successful grades. I have taught for over 5 years now, ranging from 1-1 sessions, online tuition and groups of up to 40 students between the ages of 4-18. I am currently tutoring Maths to ensure my students achieve their dream grades and a passion for the subject. My lessons are far from a typical Maths session as I ensure to bring a fresh, fun and exciting approach to Maths tutoring.
My sessions begin with notes on the topic we will be covering. I use lots of different colours, diagrams and visuals to ensure the lesson is engaging and fun. I work to the students individual pace and will never move on until there is a full understanding and confidence. There is never a need to worry about not understanding - that's what learning is all about! Once the topic is consolidated, the second part of the session consists of past paper question practise. We work together through topical exam questions to prepare the student for the layout and standard of question they will receive in their exam. In my opinion, question practise is vital for success in Maths exams and is a key form of revision. If a student can confidently work through past paper questions on the topic covered, we can both feel confident they will succeed in their exams. Most importantly, my lessons are fun and collaborative as I bring aspects of the creative side of my personality into the sessions to distinguish from a typical "boring" maths class.
