Primary school teacher keen to offer additional support to students who might face academic challenges

Hello there,

My name is Stefanos Katsikarelis and I originally come from Greece. I have been living in the UK since 2017. I hold a Bachelors degree on Primary Education and Pedagogy and a Masters' degree in Psychology of Education. I came to the UK aiming at expanding my knowledge and experience on Education and Psychology and I managed to achieve that by completing my Masters degree at University of Bristol and working as a Special Needs teacher for the last 5 years.

Over the years I have taught and supported SEN and neurotypical young and older students across a range of subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Humanities) following the national curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2.

Some of the students that I have taught were diagnosed with dyslexia, dyscalculia, developmental delay, Autism, cerebral palsy, Downs syndrome. I pride myself in helping my learners progress and mature both academically and personally.

All my teaching strategies are tailored to meet the needs of my students and based on the feedback from colleagues and parents I have developed an advanced skill of explaining complex topics in simple terms. My goal is my student to become as independent and confident as she/he possibly can.
