Advert description
I offer professional and tailored one to one home or online tutoring. With me you'll learn that you've got the skills and creativity to understand and succeed in maths. My approach goes through understanding and actively thinking rather than memorising. Often non-brilliant results are not a consequence of not being smart, rather of the subject not being taught properly; too often maths is reduced to being a mysterious set of rules you have to apply. My commitment is to release your creativity and make you think at the heart of the problems.
I've got a research career in maths, with a specialisation in algebra and number theory. My passion in maths is rooted in my success at the Mathematical Olympiads (at an international level, getting to the top 0.001% at a national level). I subsequently attended Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, considered to be the top Italian university for its very strict admission rate (5%, while personally getting to the top 1%), challenging exams, high standard lectures, Oxbridge-inspired college system and eminent personalities who have worked or studied there. I got my PhD at the University of Exeter, and then started a research career as a postdoctoral research associate.
While in Exeter I've been tutoring, lecturing and marking a wide range of modules that includes analysis, algebra, algebraic curves, topology and metric space, complex analysis, combinatorics, number theory, cryptography. I also obtained experience as a private tutor at a school level. I obtained a Learning and Teaching in Higher Education certificate (ASPIRE Framework).
