Advert description
I have a first class degree in Philosophy from a prestigious University and spent a substantial period of that course helping both fellow course mates and younger individuals with the content in informal, yet productive, workshops. Following my undergraduate degree, I completed a two-year Master's degree in Law - also from the University of Bristol. It should also be noted that I possess the following A Levels: an A* in History, an A* in Religious Studies and a B in English.
My academic achievements demonstrate my proficiency in both writing and speaking English; and it is this proficiency which will enable me to help with any academic needs pertaining to English, Philosophy, Religious Studies, History, or Law at A Level standard or below.
Beyond being qualified to tutor - and not to forget help individuals learn from my mistakes - in these subjects, I am a very friendly and personable individual. I will tutor as I would wish to be taught, helping - rather than ordering - each individual to acquire a firm grasp of the content, before working with them the approach best suited to the mark scheme of their given exam board.
I do not intend to mindlessly read content nor speak down to individuals I tutor - that is not how I learn and it is not how I believe information to be effectively absorbed. 'Understanding' flows from a full appreciation of the subtleties of the content and its surrounding context. I believe 'understanding' comes in different ways for different people, thus I will work with every person on a case-by-case basis to determine how they best learn and what it takes for them to comprehensively understand information.
I enjoy helping people and I have studied Philosophy, Law, History, Religious Studies and English with fervour. I hope to be able to combine these two characteristics and seize the opportunity to do all that I can to help students achieve the best grades possible.
