Native speaker from England delivering dynamic, fun and engaging student led classes within a set framework

I believe I have exemplary teaching English as a foreign language credentials. Not only am I a native speaker, but I hold a 2:1 grade English BA Hons. degree and a Cambridge University/RSA TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language).

I honed my English as a foreign language teaching skills in Brazil where dull and dry teacher led classes are simply not tolerated! The maxim is based upon the idea that learning occurs more successfully when students are happy and having fun, with a strong emphasis in classes on maximising student speaking time as opposed to teacher speaking time.
Initially, a detailed needs analysis will be conducted to ascertain each student`s very individual set of learning priorities, which will be used to create a particular curriculum or learning schedule, tailored perfectly to, and agreed with the student.

Priority is given during class time to speaking and listening skills, with careful consideration lended to working on correct pronunciation, an area often neglected, and so essential to effective English communication. Students are strongly encouraged to work on their reading and written English out of class time. But the idea is that the four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, together with grammar and pronunciation are integrated and blended together seamlessly. As far as possible classes are conducted through visual props such as flash cards and all instructions are given in English, to provide as much contact with the language as possible

Personally I am a very easy going, approachable and friendly tutor, with a genuine interest in people and facilitating their learning of English. I like to provide lots of positive encouragement and feedback, recognising the important role individual confidence plays in the overall learning experience, in helping students attain fluency and maximising their potential to reach as high a level as possible-
