Hello! I am Joe, a passionate composer, arranger and musician with over 5 years of experience in music theory, composition, and arrangement. My journey in music began at a young age with the trumpet, and this ignited my fascination with music for years to come.
Below is what you can expect during our lessons;

Melody Writing: Together, we will learn the art of crafting memorable and expressive melodies that are captivating. Depending on your skills, we will explore further motif development, ostinati, and variation techniques to create even more compelling melodic lines.
Harmonic Progressions: I will teach you the interplay of chords and harmonies, common chord progressions, and modulation techniques to add colour and depth to your compositions.
Orchestration and Arranging: We will look into the orchestration process, including the functions of instrumentation, voicing, and texture. Then, experiment with musical arrangements for different ensembles, from solo piano to full orchestra, and learn how to balance and blend instrumental timbres effectively.
Genre Exploration: Finally, we will explore a diverse range of musical genres, from cinematic music to other styles, such as jazz, fantasy, and even 'bloodborne' music.
My approach to teaching is student-centred and adaptive. I recognize that each individual has unique learning styles and compositional goals. Composition and arranging may seem hard at first glance, but it doesn't have to be. I plan to create a supportive environment with each student where you feel encouraged to explore your creativity, ask me questions, and take risks in your musical journey
