Experienced teacher and GCSE Examiner to help explain chemistry. Patient and knowledgeable.

I have over twenty years’ experience teaching Chemistry at a high achieving school and am an Examiner for Edexcel Chemistry. I have a PhD in Chemistry from Cambridge University and studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. I have tutored for over 10 years.

I will work with you in sessions to make sure that you understand all concepts and can use scientific vocabulary correctly. I always encourage you to ask questions and will listen carefully to your answers. I make my feedback constructive and specific so that you can learn (and enjoy) chemistry. I am patient and willing to use as many different methods as necessary to improve your attainment. The pace and level is whatever you need and I will encourage you to ask questions to clarify each idea and build your confidence.

My students achieve high grades (A*/9). I can offer helpful advice on learning chemical facts and tips on examination technique. I want you to engage fully in the sessions and will use a variety of strategies to help explain the topics in a meaningful and memorable way. I am keen to help and progress is the goal.
