Advert description
As a teacher, I was part of a team preparing for a school-wide event the Art Fair. The goal was to engage students, parents, and staff while showcasing the students' learning and achievements.
My role was to coordinate the efforts of my grade level and ensure our students had engaging and well-prepared presentations that aligned with the event's theme. I organized a team meeting where I facilitated an open and respectful discussion. I encouraged each team member to share their perspective without interruption, summarized their viewpoints to ensure everyone felt heard, and then worked with the group to identify common ground. I also clearly communicated the project's priorities and deadlines to refocus the team's efforts.
By using active listening and clear, empathetic communication, I helped resolve the conflict and fostered a collaborative environment. In my role as a Teacher at school, I worked closely with children who had diverse special educational needs, including ADHD, speech and language delays, or physical disabilities. My responsibilities included creating and delivering individualized learning plans (ILPs) tailored to their abilities and learning styles.
I collaborated with parents and multi-disciplinary teams, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists, to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development. For instance, I used visual schedules and sensory-friendly strategies to support students with ASD, helping them transition smoothly between activities and reducing anxiety in the classroom.
Through these experiences, I’ve developed strong skills in empathy, patience, and adaptability. My efforts have contributed to improved confidence, academic progress, and overall well-being for the individuals I’ve supported.
I love teaching face-to-face and online.
