Advert description
I am a fully qualified Geography teacher (PGCE) with a social science background.
My expertise lies with teaching in England's schools for over 3 years, with the knowledge of the GCSE curriculum.
Let's explore the physical and social world together.
I am passionate about people and places! I have always lived in the UK and have experience of everything British, including the education system. I love to travel and explore new places and cultures.
I am an avid reader who likes to keep up with our ever changing world and and impart my knowledge.
I have children of my own who help me to keep up to date with all things academic!
I have worked in various educational settings to gain valuable experience of the UK national curriculum.
I have initially worked as the following; teaching assistant, cover supervisor, to then progress to teach in classrooms across Lancashire; working as an academic mentor with pupils who required additional support during post-covid, and a geography teacher.
My areas of specialism are Humanities and Social Sciences, teaching Geography up till GCSE, and a Bachelor degree in Social Sciences. My PGCE teacher training was teaching Geography till GCSE (AQA & EDEXCEL), and also teaching A LEVEL Sociology (AQA).
I am also passionate about reducing the literacy gap, and have a passion for teaching literacy skills in various settings. I have a diploma in English Language studies, and my previous role with Teach First was working with students of ESL (English as a second language), to enhance language for GCSE exams, by identifying gaps in learning, and ESOL examination preparations.
