During sixth form, I was one of the two students who established an academic class during break time to lecture younger pupils about the accomplishments of women in STEM. This was a practical approach to educating students about the history of STEM, which is absent in the GCSE curriculum because students felt more comfortable expressing themselves once I introduced myself as a student. As far as the influence of my gender, girls were more likely to share why they were unsure whether they should pursue a more scientific path. This offered all genders the confidence and facilities they desired to question significant concerns in the world around them and propose solutions. Thus, produces a new generation of students who desire to pursue a career in STEM and who are supported in developing their talents to the fullest and without the limits frequently imposed by gender stereotypes.
