At eight, I moved to the UK and began school with almost no English skills. Today, I am completing a bachelor's degree in International Disaster Management, and hope to improve your ability to understand spoken English in real-life situations. As a child of parents who learnt English later in life and as their third language, I witnessed the challenges of understanding different English accents and fast speakers. Although they were familiar with all the words and would completely understand the sentences if I said them, these curveballs would make them loose confidence in their English. In my lessons, I plan to incorporate audio materials such as movies, podcasts and news shows to improve listening skills by completing comprenshion based exercises. My classes will always priortise being interactive. I will encourage all the students to speak confidently in class, creating a safe and motivating environment to learn English as a foreign language.
