I build upon the knowledge a student already has to teach them new topics, linking that information to make it more relevant to the student. I employ techniques of active recall, by frequent verbal mini-tests whilst teaching, encouraging students to think about the information presented. I also probe at incorrect assumptions, to help students build a greater intuition.
