Maryam is an enthusiastic and motivated teacher with a passion for developing student potential. She completed her first master's degree in economics and started her teaching career in Asia. With more than six years of teaching experience, she is adept in motivating and instructing students and has a well-rounded skill set. She is currently pursuing her second master's degree in education studies from the UK.
Maryam started her teaching career at a primary school in Pakistan where she was responsible for preparing and delivering differentiated lessons using activity-based approaches. She developed her expertise in teaching students with diverse abilities by preparing engaging lesson-plans and using progressive reinforcement techniques. After two years, she was hired by an International Baccalaureate school where she worked in the capacity of a homeroom teacher for grade 6. She taught English, geography, history and science. She worked on maximizing student performance using a variety of instructional strategies and incorporating technology in learning. She was then promoted to Primary Years Program coordinator and was given the responsibility of reviewing educational directives in collaboration with teaching staff as well as coordinating with other school departments to ensure a smooth functioning of school operations. She completed certification in creating a curriculum in transdisciplinary learning from IBO, Geneva.
During her teaching years, Maryam continued working on her professional development by successfully completing a variety of courses including leadership courses for trainers from Harvard University. Moreover, she collaborated with a team of educators from Finland to complete a program called “Teach like a Finn’.
In 2021, Maryam moved to Turkey and started working with an international school following American common core state standards. Here she worked in a leadership position as the head of the primary school department and successfully promoted and maintained a high standard learning environment. She was also responsible for monitoring and evaluating teaching quality, maintaining an effective partnership with the school community along with daily organization and administration of school operations.
Her passion for education and learning brought her to the UK where she has recently started her career.
