Friendly GCSE and A-level Biology and Chemistry Tutor

I offer comprehensive interactive lessons in person and online, covering GCSE and A-level biology for AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards. My sessions are tailored to the individual needs and learning style of the student, and can include:

- One-to-to one targeted teaching and revision of areas needing extra work. This includes interactive presentations and discussions, focusing on areas that students need the most support with.
- Working through practise questions and mock exams, with explanations of high-scoring answers to questions which frequently arise in exams
- Tackling homework together, ensuring the student leaves the session happy with a high quality piece of work
- Reviewing and offering guidance on coursework, using my extensive experience to feedback on both scientific content and presentation

Most importantly, my sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and encouraging for the student, helping them to identify their strengths and enjoy their learning. I believe that confidence is essential for success and this is something I continuously nurture in my students.

For medical school applicants, I offer a personal statement review service with personalised feedback, and 1-1 interview coaching.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students, significantly improving their grades
- First class degree in Natural Sciences (MSci, Chemistry and Biology) from the University of Nottingham
- Distinction in MSc Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Manchester
- Three years working as a clinical biochemist on the NHS Scientist Training Programme
- Current student on the highly competitive graduate entry Medicine programme at the University of Birmingham
