I have achieved high grades in GCSE and A level spanish and am currently studying for a BA in spanish and Italian., I have been learning spanish for 10 years and have knowledge of the learning experience. I am now studying spanish speaking cultures at university and have realised upon starting university that it is a topic that can be extremely enjoyable. I am keen to show students how exciting studying languages can be, especially students of GCSE and A level who might not yet see the bigger picture of learning spanish and its place in the world. The best part of studying languages is that it is not a subject that can only be put into a textbook, it is a concept that exists in the world in a huge range of ways. Spanish is a language that is spoken in several parts of the world and with this comes resources based in music, film, media, literature, sport and incredible history. I believe there is something for everyone in the study of languages, and I would use this in lessons. I would ask students about their interests and always find ways to bring that into lesson plans to make their journey in studying spanish an enjoyable part of their week.
