Experienced primary school teacher and tutor of English at KS1 and KS2

I am a qualified Design and Technology teacher who has taught both at secondary school level and in more recent years at primary schools. I have nearly 20 years of teaching experience and over nine years of private tutoring experience, tutoring primary school children both Maths and English and Maths at secondary school level. I have recently retaken my Maths GCSE in order to up-level my Maths knowledge at KS3 and KS4 and to gain experience with the latest exam board testing process.

I tutor either face-to-face or online to individual pupils or small groups. My main aims are to improve confidence in your child's own abilities and help them to gain a better understanding in English and / or Maths, which will in turn enable them to make good progress overall.

I always tailor my sessions to each child and plan and prepare work to cover any aspects that either you or myself feel need improving. I make my sessions fun and enjoyable in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. I will always encourage your child to understand that it is okay to make mistakes and to teach them how they can reflect on and improve when they have made an error.

At the end of every lesson, I offer feedback to let you know how that lesson went and what we will be covering next time. I am always very open to discuss any concerns that you may have.
