Jan Kilpatrick

Jan won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dance, London where she continued with her dance training and studied to become a teacher. She was student president, and it was during her time here that she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree, Licentiate and Associate.

From 2003-2005, Jan worked in New York at Coupe Theatre Studio. Here she taught children and adults and she worked with professionals from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Broadway, and Purchase College.

Jan took over Whitehouse Ballet School, Belfast in 2005 and entered students regularly for RAD exams with a 100 percent pass rate. Jan employed a team of 4 and was a mentor for students wishing to undertake the RAD Certificate in Teaching Studies.

In 2021 she obtained her Masters In Education, Advanced Movement Specialist Certificate (body language) and Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling.

Jan continues to mentor students and is a consultant for teachers. She opened ‘The Care Cabin’ to provide private consulting and holistic counselling services to a wider network. She works with individuals of all ages in many different careers and settings to help them in all aspects of life including, depression, stress/anxiety management, organisation and planning, leadership, bereavement, parenting, relationships. An element of her counselling and psychotherapy includes movement therapy which can benefit those with low self-esteem and confidence.
