Advert description
Having obtained a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and then a postgraduate diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, I have since worked as an orchestral, solo and chamber musician across Europe.
As a teacher, I currently hold a position with the G.F Handel Music Academy (in partnership with St George's British International School) in Cologne, Germany. I have worked as a flute teacher both privately and with music academies in Ireland, The UK, France and Germany for over 12 years.
My teaching philosophy is simple: progress via enjoyment. This is at the heart of all my teaching; that enjoying the process of learning leads to better progress. I see my primary role as a teacher to try and pass on the passion I have not only for music, but for the learning process and the benefits it can bring us across our lives.
Together we’ll set short term targets and long term goals, and achieving these will not only bring musical benefits, but also developments in creativity, work ethic, confidence and self-esteem. Learning a musical instrument can pay dividends for decades to come!
I also proudly have a 100% pass record with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams and am happy to prepare students for these exams, if you wish!
