Advert description
Hello! I am Alisha and I am an International Relations Graduate. I have achieved A* in both English literature and language.
My classes focus on strengthening my students’ listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.
My classes offer different forms of learning each lesson to ensure my students remain motivated and engaged in their work (especially younger students).
All my classes are 1-1 and will focus on how to answer exam questions and what exactly are examiners looking for:
-How to structure your writing in order to clearly communicate your ideas and arguments in you work.
-How to improve your time management skills during your English exams.
-How to use critical analysis in your work instead of just interpreting literature. (This is what boosts grades from a grade 7 to a 9).
All my lessons are very interactive, for example in an GCSE English literature lesson we would analyse a section of one of the texts your are studying together, and form a grade 8-9 answer based off of our findings.
In another lesson we would investigate a practice exam paper, and I would teach you how to structure your answer in each exam question and what the examiner is looking for.
The most important part of my teaching is adapting my teaching style to fit my students’ needs. I understand that every student finds different methods of learning useful, therefore it would be unfair to use the same teaching style for every student.
Each lesson is a minimum of 2 hours.
