Kotor Asare is a lecturer, an early childhood education teacher educator, who holds a BE.d in Early childhood education and an M.Phil in educational leadership with a specialization in early childhood education curriculum studies from the University of Education, Winneba-Ghana.
Kotor Asare is graduating in June, 2023 in educational leadership and management in early childhood teacher education and also a Ph.D. candidate in curriculum and supervision from the Universities of South Africa and Centro Escolar of the Philippines respectively.
Currently, he lectures full-time at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), formerly the University of Education, Winneba-Kumasi Campus, Ghana (UEW). He began his teaching career as a basic school teacher in 2001, having been awarded Teachers’ Certificate ‘’A’’ from Wesley College, Kumasi-Ghana. After his bachelor’s degree, he worked as a kindergarten teacher and the head of the pre-school department of SOS Herman Gmeiner School. His teaching experience spans all levels of the educational ladder except that of the Senior High level, as he has handled kindergartners, primary, and Junior High school children, likewise students at the teacher training college, nursing college, polytechnic, and the mainstream universities on a part-time or full-time basis.
He is also an accredited and certified facilitator for National Teaching Council (NTC) and had facilitated workshops for the practicing and pre-service teachers in over thirteen (13) districts in Ghana on a number of teacher-related continuing professional development courses.
In the area of research and technical writing, he had widely published peer-reviewed scholarly articles in the international academic community on curriculum, assessment, and early childhood teacher education-related issues. Locally in the Ghanaian media, he is credited for his witty write-ups and opinions on the improvement of the education service delivery in the country.
On awards and recognitions, he won an educational bursary to undertake a month-long training in 2018 on emotional development and resilience in early childhood education, under the auspices of MASHAV-University of Haifa in Israel. He was also the recipient of the 2020 National Best Students Lecturer award in Ghana.
