Advert description
I have an Mmus (Distinction) from Exeter University and a Phd in Music from Sussex University. Since 1988 I have performed at festivals across Europe and in North America.
For 8 years I worked as a pianist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ilan Volkov.
Since the mid-1990´s I have taught as a university lecturer and piano tutor. I was based in Oxford for three years where I taught at Oxford-Brookes and St. Peter´s College, Oxford.
For 15 years I taught in Norway at various cultural schools. My pupils ranged from the age of six years of age to 78 and studied all different genres of music. I taught beginners up to advanced students preparing for conservatory auditions.
I have all ABRSM Grades from 1-8. Last year I won a Norwegian Grammy Award and as a young artist won various scholarships for studies in Europe and the USA.
I teach from home in Royal Aberdeenshire where I have a Bechstein grand piano. Students experience me to be a thorough, attentive and patient teacher with a good sense of humour.
Yours faithfully,
James Clapperton
