Advert description
Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Valeri, and I graduated with a first-class master's degree in physics from Lancaster University in July 2022. Since then, I've worked as a Software Engineer in North Wales. I can proudly say that I've enjoyed my time at university studying physics, and right now I'm excited to look for opportunities to share my passion for maths & physics with future generations on the weekends.
I can offer mentoring and assistance for Maths and Physics at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level levels. In Sixth Form, I completed A-Levels in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science, familiarizing myself with British examination boards. Moreover, I possess proficiency in Python and C coding, enabling me to provide technical support in programming.
I’ve previously tutored maths & physics to friends & family in my spare time which I really enjoyed and now I wish to continue that path by taking tutoring on the weekends.
My tutoring sessions are about improving fundamental understanding for individual pupils. Without a solid understanding of a subject topic, the pupil will likely struggle during his studies. I don't only teach for a pupil to pass an exam, but, to also build a solid foundation that will help pupils in their future studies. Grades will follow gradually as conceptual understanding improves.
There is no one-size-fits-all, so I like to adapt my teaching style based on what works best for the pupil. To discover that I focus on understanding the individual's strengths & weaknesses and working on a plan to eliminate the weaknesses. During my lessons, I will have a bank of questions which are a mixture of exam past paper style & textbook problems. Based on the pupil's performance throughout the lesson I will determine what areas need improvement each session.
I also strongly encourage pupils to expand on their curiosity and bring up questions they find challenging which can be tackled through the lesson in a non-stressful environment.
