Throughout my career, I have cultivated a deep passion for teaching and mentoring medical students. My experience at Dr. Moopen's Medical College, spanning four years as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, has been immensely rewarding. I have relished the opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise with aspiring medical professionals, guiding them towards a successful future in healthcare.
My recent engagement with Oxford Royale Academy further enriched my teaching repertoire. By leading their Explore Medicine course, I was able to impart my enthusiasm for the human body to a younger audience. We delved into the intricacies of anatomy and physiology, illuminating the complexities of health and disease. Beyond the biological foundations, we explored the diverse landscape of medical specialties, sparking curiosity and awareness of the critical role healthcare plays in society.
My clinical background as a General Practitioner, coupled with my academic pursuits, provides a unique perspective on medical education. My roles as a Clinical Pharmacologist at Apollo Hospitals and a Resident Medical Officer at MPC Hospital have equipped me with invaluable insights into medication management, patient safety, and quality improvement. These experiences have solidified my commitment to advancing the knowledge and practice of pharmacology while delivering exceptional care to patients.
In my teaching, I employ a multifaceted approach that blends the Socratic method, whiteboard discussions, and PowerPoint presentations. The Socratic method encourages critical thinking and active participation, while the visual aids of whiteboards and PowerPoint presentations enhance understanding and engagement. By fostering a collaborative and interactive learning environment, I aim to inspire students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
Beyond the technical aspects of pharmacology, I strive to instill in my students the importance of empathy, communication, and teamwork. These essential skills are indispensable in the modern healthcare landscape, where collaboration and effective communication are paramount. By nurturing these qualities in my students, I hope to empower them to become compassionate and competent healthcare professionals.
