Experienced GCSE English Language and Literature tutor

Advert description
I am currently a top medical student at Imperial College London who has scored A* in their GCSE and A Level equivalent Biology, Chemistry, English and Maths. In addition, I have gained several hundred hours of experience tutoring on online platforms for both schools and private lesson students, so have a solid understanding of how to teach online.
My lessons can be adapted for different students. For instance, I have taught students under a wide variety of exam boards to gain A and A*s in their A Levels, such as AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL, WJEC AND SQA.

I will spend the first quarter of the lesson going through the topics we have went over before, then the majority of the lesson after going through the main topic for today, and completing some questions. Last but not least, I will round the lesson up by going through the answers and how to correct any questions you have made mistakes on. Last but not least, I will stay in contact with the parents and teacher(s) (if school based) to keep track of how the student is progressing.

I would love to have you on board as one of my students. Let’s work together to get that A* in your English, Maths, Biology and Chemistry!

I would spend the first half of the session explaining difficult concepts they don't understand, then teaching them some useful active learning techniques, tips and tricks to consolidate their learning. After that, the second half would be used for running through past paper/similar questions. Even though I have personally only sat the Scottish SQA exams, many of the SQA and GCSE/A level specifications overlap, so I would be confident in tutoring students planning to take the English Exams too. I have studied in the UK for over 10 years and am highly familiar too with the medical school entrance exams and interview (ie. BMAT, UKCAT, MMI, panel etc.)

I have tutored KS2, KS3, GCSE and A Level English, Maths, Biology and Chemistry for over 40 students, and have done so for a while as I really enjoy helping students with a variety of work! It can be difficult for the students to memorise and reinforce the knowledge in their head, so I use active revision techniques such as flashcards, mind maps and presentations to help the students get the knowledge into their head. Therefore, I can help get the grades that the students are looking for.

I have tutored on a variety of online platforms before, as wel as doing some tuition with family and friends in person. Even though the experiences are slightly different, I have gained lots of experience of how to adapt my communication skills to a variety of students to help them learn the best that they can.
