Advert description
I come from a multilingual background with more than 20 years of work experience in different international and cultural settings. I am originally from Germany and have lived and worked in English and Spanish speaking countries for more than a decade. I taught German at the Goethe Institute in Singapore and for more than 7 years at the German European School of Singapore (GESS). I also gave private tuition to students from Japan, Russia, Singapore, India, Australia, France and the UK, who came with no German at all or some previous knowledge. I have a great passion for languages and different cultures and enthusiastically share this passion with my students. I intent to link the culture to the language, as it helps to understand and therefore better learn the language. Depending on the level of knowledge and type of learners I am very flexible in my approach to language teaching. I am very ambitious to create a safe and positive learning environment and can be very experimental with the lesson setup. I like to keep lesson content real and relevant, so that students can easily connect with the language and stay highly motivated. I make sure that my students are engaged and continuously staying involved in the learning. Building an interactive learning environment is important to me to help students to find the learning process more entertaining. I am a great believer that language learning must be FUN. With my positive attitude I inspire students to constantly give their best. I demonstrate a high level of patience and compassion during this process and show perseverance and great commitment to my students. From my recent job at a local primary school, I am part of the enhanced DBS service and undertook training in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid and SEN.
