Mathematics and Physics tutor teaches all ages

Advert description
I hold an undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Theoretical Physics (1st class honours) and a PhD in Mathematics (Science) - specifically, Einstein's Theory of General Relativity.

I have been tutoring for mathematics and physics for 22 years and worked as a mathematics teacher at secondary for 13.5 years and worked as a lecturer in mathematics in a further education college for 3.5 years. I am currently a full-time mathematics and physics tutor.

I am fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (Secondary and Further Education). PVG and Enhanced DBS cleared.

My tutoring specialisation is in secondary mathematics and physics exam courses (especially National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher). I also have experience in teaching and tutoring Advanced Higher Mathematics of Mechanics.

My main teaching skill is making difficult concepts seem easy through clear explanations, organisation of lessons and extensive practice of questions.

Informal teaching style, covering everything completely.

Difficult ideas made simple through my organised and structured way of teaching.

Start off with simple questions and gradually build up to difficult ones (including exam questions, with precise allocation of marks indicated according to the official marking scheme of the relevant examining body).

Highlight common mistakes students tend to make in specific question types.

Main teaching philosophy : explain everything clearly.

Expectation of students : revise regularly and make a serious attempt at answering all questions given by tutor.

Mohammed was my College Lecturer and helped me to achieve my NC and HNC. His lessons were always easy to understand, thorough and interesting. Whenever I needed help with a particular element he was always very helpful, and would take the time to explain and ensure I understood the task. A great lecturer/tutor.

Dr. Patel has been a great support throughout secondary school and has always seen the potential in me, helping and teaching me Mathematics and Physics. With his support, I have achieved Advanced Higher Mathematics a year in advance. I believe he is a great tutor with so much knowledge to pass on and patience to teach. I cannot recommend him enough!

Dr Patel was one of the best teachers I've worked with. He helped me when I was at school big time and one of the reasons I managed to get into medical school. Deep respect for his commitment and passion for maths along with his unquestionable ability to teach well to get the student to perform well. Thank you for all that you do Dr Patel :)
