- The student would have either contacted me to let me know what we could cover in the lesson, or we could simply leave off where we started from the previous lesson.
- As I follow the AQA specification of both GCSE and A level (both A1 & A2), I will use the specification to generate a checklist on what core, key points of a topic we need to cover, and already have covered, i.e. a checklist.
- If the lesson is 1 hour, then it can would generally follow a default structure of 40 minutes given to theory, and 20 minutes to question practice, or vice versa, depending on the student's needs (this default structure is only there if the student is unsure of how to layout the session. It isn't compulsory to follow it).
- The time can run over if it needs to, and the student doesn't need to pay extra if the overtime increases well beyond normal lesson time.
- The session will take place online (mainly through Zoom, or other platforms if the student doesn't have Zoom), so the student would need to have a stable internet connection and working microphone. They do not have to show their camera if they don't want to.
---- Content and Dynamics ----
- Each lesson generally takes around an hour, and this session time is flexible, meaning the student can go overtime. Although, I will remind the student about lesson time limits and when we can start to end the session.
- I will teach GCSE, AS or A level Chemistry and Biology, under the AQA exam board specifically.
- The lesson will go at the student's pace, and we can stop anytime if they have any questions to ask me related to the subject at hand.
- The student would generally need to come to the session with note-taking equipment, whether online or on paper. It's up to them.
- Questions will be a must for almost any session, unless the student plans to only focus on theory in one session otherwise (so they would need to contact me before the session for this).
---- My experience ----
- When I completed my GCSEs, I had scored 8s and 9s in both Biology and Chemistry.
- When I finished my AS and A levels, I had scored a A/B in Chemistry, and an A in Biology.
- I have experience in conversing with and volunteering to help younger students with study, as I had partaken in many clubs and sessions at school that had aimed to boost student revision, specifically GCSE and even AS level content.
