Zoe Atkinson

I am passionate about creating and developing confidence in students abilities. I have been teaching privately of over 30 years from beginners up to grade 8, teaching children and adult learners and have a full DBS Check. I teach Violin, Viola and Music Theory and teach mainly from my music room at home but can travel if necessary and can offer online tuition if and when needed.
I tailor my lessons to suit the needs of each individual student and am happy teaching beginners to engage with a Violin or Viola, playing for fun or taking exams and coaching students all the way up to grade 8. I also teach Music Theory, most students only want to go up to grade 5 but higher grades can be assisted with to support students in GCSE and A Level studies. I firmly believe that creating confidence in playing is as important as developing musical technique and always try to make sure lessons are relaxed and fun. I use ABRSM as an exam board but can use Trinity as well.
In my leisure time I play in many local orchestras and I play regularly in a String Quartet.
My qualifications include: ABRSM Violin and Theory of Music Grade 8 and Viola grade 7, GCSE Music and 2 A Levels in Music (one in General music and the other in Music Performance).
