My motto when it comes to maths tutoring is that solving the same solution but with different variables is always the most efficient and effective way of studying maths. I have taught several primary and secondary school (IGCSE and IAL) students mathematics from international schools in Hong Kong, all my lessons were conducted in English so language won't be a problem. I usually do a trial lesson first with a new student. I usually start the tutorial by catching up with the student's school work (if any), and explain or guide them to correct any of their mistakes. After that, I would provide the student mathematical problems according to what they are learning in school which I have prepared before the lesson. Whilst they are doing the problems that I have given them, they can ask me if they have any questions about it, and I would be preparing new questions for them for the next lesson according to the problems they were stuck on in their school work. However for GCSE and GCE, I believe the best method to revise maths is to redo the past papers over and over again, hence either the student or I can prepare the past papers and try to complete at least half of a past paper per lesson minimum. As GCSE and GCE A Levels is all about the marking scheme, steps are very crucial to get points, hence I usually check the student's answers carefully with the marking scheme.

Very careful and empathetic tutor! She has helped a lot with my IGCSE maths and got an A* thank you! She gave me a lot of work, though it's quite hectic but they're definitely worth it :)
