I’ve always been an active learner, retaining the most information from having memorable and fun classes with my teachers. In my lessons, there’ll be a Powerpoint presentation for every class, along with activities that students could either do on their own or with me. In the middle of lessons, I’ll ask if they understand or want me to go over something again with them, and will take five to 10 minutes to do so. Each lesson will last for an hour! At the end of every lesson, I’ll ask them what they’ve learnt, and how they’ll apply it to future tasks. Lessons will be very active for students, and they’ll be doing activities after every note taking slide. I’ll try to show them how what I’m teaching is present in English literature and language, to engage them into finding it memorable. I completely understand that English may not be everyone’s favourite or strongest subject, and that’s okay! There could be a mathematician, or a artist, or a musician that might struggle with English and understanding it. My goal is to help improve this understanding, and ensure that students have a memorable, fun, and happy lesson with me, whilst retaining information and learning. After each lesson also, I’ll ask students what I could improve on for next lesson, and definitely ensure students have fun learning through games such as Kahoot, and prizes for students who do well!
