About me

I would like to deliver lessons which focus on guided practice where we can work through mathematical problems together through constructive dialogue.

I would like to deliver lessons which focus on guided practice where we can work through mathematical problems together through constructive dialogue.

From my experience in the classroom, students learn better when they arrive at mathematical understanding through being questioned and challenged by someone with mathematical understanding. It's only through understanding concepts well that students will feel empowered to apply their knowledge to a wide range of exam-style questions.

The majority of sessions will be spent tackling exam-style problems - I would encourage the student to share their thought process throughout this so I can best assist them to the right approach. I would be happy to set some independent practice tasks (i.e. homework) and assess this during the following week if the student feels that would be helpful.
