The best way to learn is to communicate and work through all doubts, I encourage students to ask as many questions as possible. The goal is to understand the maths and not simply regurgitate what has been taught in classrooms. The lessons will take a practical approach where we tackle weak areas in the students abilities and work through loads of example questions to build familiarity as well as solid understanding of the concepts at hand. If we are talking about GCSE and A-Level Maths, I am happy to teach any topic the student may require!
My personal relevant experience is achieving an A* in GCSE maths, due to Covid I couldn’t do my A-Levels exams but I was predicting an A, and finally at the University of Nottingham I undertook a degree in Computer Science which was really maths heavy and elevated my understanding of applied Mathematics. I believe maths is a fundamental skill that enables people to think more critically about all aspects of life and if it wasn’t for my dedication in learning it I wouldn’t have got as far as I have. I’m currently a software engineer in a financial technology company and I strongly believe my mathematics knowledge has helped me achieve this position!
