Maths has had an increasing importance in my life since GCSE’s, as I study A Level Maths Physics and Business- all of which are heavily maths focused. Taking these subjects had given me an understanding of the real world importance of maths and just how intrinsic it is to life. As well as being an important part of the real world, achieving a high grade in GCSE Maths hugely widens a student’s horizons: more A level courses are accessible, apprenticeship applications are more competitive and employment opportunities far more lucrative! In short, a good GCSE Maths grade opens up a huge number of opportunities for students, and I firmly believe that having multiple choices and options available is important. This is why I am offering GCSE Maths tuition, to try and provide as many students as I can with as wide a range of options as possible!

Before lessons I will ask my students if there is any specific topic areas they would like to focus on for the lesson. I will then talk through the key concepts and ensure students understand the fundamentals of the topic. Once the fundamentals of the topic are understood, I like to start with practice exam questions, as it is by far the most effective way to practice new skills. It exercises knowledge as well as application of the mark scheme. Lots of exam practice will be beneficial for achieving potential in the GCSE exams- likely leading to many more opportunities in the future!
