I have been tutoring my sister for three years. Currently, I am preparing her for 11+ using test papers, going over the questions that she got wrong by prompting her, rather than immediately telling her the answer. As she is ten years old, I have catered to her dynamic by including reward systems, prizes and kahoot games (that I have self made) in order to ensure that she stays focused and motivated during lessons. But if I were to teach an older person, I would adapt my teaching styles to them and their personality. I can teach using visuals, such as drawing on a whiteboard, posters and presentations and I enjoy a conversational lesson, rather than a rigid session. As well as Chemistry, I am also confident in teaching psychology and biology to an A-level standard. Furthermore, I am confident in teaching history, islamic studies, arabic, maths, english language and english literature to a GCSE standard. Studying essay based subjects, I am able to explain an effective essay template in order to achieve high quality work. I am also able to give college/sixth form advice and can help with anyone who is writing a personal statement or needs timetable guidance, as I juggled my sixth form years whilst doing an islamic theology course during the weekends. I would also be willing to share the resources that I made and used to achieve my grades during GCSEs and A levels, but would recommend that students create their own to ensure their learning was more effective!
