My lessons will be engaging, as a student myself who can only retain information in a certain way, I know what techniques to use for effective learning. Regular knowledge checks, and specification-specific content will be included in my regular lessons. I am able to adapt my teaching style to what the tutee needs. If they prefer visuals, I am able to create appealing power-points slide. For those who prefer note-taking and auditory learning I am able to create worksheets where I say key points and there are activities to fill out. I am currently a tutor for 11+ students, and have always received positive feedback for my teaching methods. I take aboard feedback and actively incorporate what is needed into lessons, I keep parents updated with progress and am able to do whatever is specifically needed of me from family to family. Through my knowledge checks, I am able to see what is needed to be taught and what is an area of strength. I can then amend my lessons to fit the child's strengths and weaknesses. Biology is a subject based on facts, the best way to revise facts is active recall. Every lesson will begin and end with an active recall session, embedding these facts and theories into the long term memory. I have studied the psychology of memory and will work these into my lessons, these scientifically proven ways will show an outstanding, observable outcome that will leave parents more than happy with the course of the lesson.
