Hey! My name's Zac and I'm a mechanical engineering student at Lancaster University. I started teaching maths during my A Levels where I volunteered to help the Year 7s with their homework. Initially I did it to boost my C.V, but I ended up enjoying it and continued for several more months than I intended, leading me to tutoring full time.

I firmly believe the best way to teach is through example and I always try to break the material down into simple steps in order to make it easier to learn and memorise. I also believe that everyone can learn maths, no matter how intimidating quadratic equations seem. It's just a question of finding the right technique or the right analogy to make the method stick. I believe it's not my job to show you how to quote formulas like a parrot, but to help you internalise the principles so you can really understand and use them.

My sessions are flexible and are mostly influenced by your needs. If you need help understanding simultaneous equations, we can spend half an hour on that. If you need help on a specific question, I'll walk you through it. If you want extra practice with quadratics, I'll draw some questions for you. And if you have absolutely no idea where to start, we can either go through the syllabus bit by bit, go through past papers or pick a topic out of a hat. Parents are also welcome to make suggestions and requests as well.
