If you’ve never played before I will start with basic techniques that make you focus on sounding good from the start. Nothing flash. Just how to play consistently and with feeling. If you are intermediate or advanced I will
do exactly the same thing. I’ve toured the world with The Proclaimers and other bands. And in the end all we want to do is make the simplest things sound and feel great every time we play them. Songs and theory come up as we develop the sound and tone of your playing. Set yourself a challenging song as a goal, or an open stage performance, or join a band. We will explore the music that will get you to the place you want to go. There will be theory, history and hopefully a whole lotta fun on that journey. A lot of playing and messing about, making mistakes and learning the tricks to keep your confidence high. It takes 10-20 minutes a day of commitment outside of the lessons. But you keep doing small amounts everyday and each lesson will be a revelation and will enthuse you to play for 30 minutes a day

I've been having lessons with Zac for four months now. From the time we started he got what I was looking for. I'd been playing guitar for over 20 years but was basically stuck. I'd tried other teachers and then given them up. Zac combines theory and practice seamlessly and enjoyably, for example explaining why a particular riff sounds right, a great basis for then doing your own creative thing. Also very practical advice on right and left hand technique, including how to create a chord shape that facilitates riffing. Lessons are also fun and Zac is simply a great guy. I thoroughly recommend anyone wanting to advance their guitar playing to give Zac a try!
