I tutor GCSE chemistry students within my school especially tripe science students doing the AQA or Edexel board. I have recently developed a passion of teaching while volunteering as I can help others reach their goals and i would love to be a part if their journey to succeed. I usually begin my asking the students what they already know about the topic and then move forward from there. This allows me to understand the extent of the student’s understanding so I can teach them content that they actually need help with.
I ask questions throughout the session to make sure the students are confident with the content.
I use text books especially the diagrams to explain more complex concepts which has proven quite helpful.
I also like to keep a lighthearted and fun environment for the students which encourages them to learn on their own on their own accord which will help them tremendously in the future.
While teaching within my school, I have leaned to use unique hacks and recall methods to help the students remember the content easily while I have also notices the problem topics within chemistry and I re-familiarise with the topics so I can teach it effectively.
